The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, hit theaters on March 19 and is on track to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. During a press conference at the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026, Anupam Kher expressed his views, stating, "We should disregard those calling films propaganda. They are irrelevant and do not deserve our attention." He encouraged fans to celebrate the achievements of both The Kashmir Files and Dhurandhar. Kher emphasized that audiences are not foolish; they choose to watch films they enjoy, as evidenced by packed screenings. He also pointed out that while some media outlets operate as businesses, viewers can still derive value from the films they watch.

Insights on Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Since its release, Dhurandhar 2 has garnered a growing fan base. Notable figures like Superstar Rajinikanth have praised the film, referring to director Aditya Dhar as 'box office ka baap.' Other filmmakers and actors, including Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Mahesh Babu, have also commended the movie. The plot follows Ranveer Singh's character, Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi, as he ventures into Karachi, Pakistan, to become the King of Lyari and combat terrorism affecting India. The Kannada version contributed Rs 0.38 Cr, while the Malayalam version added Rs 0.22 Cr on the film's second Sunday. The Tamil and Telugu versions earned Rs 1.50 Cr and Rs 3.00 Cr, respectively. Looking ahead, Ranveer Singh is set to star in a zombie thriller titled Pralay, which will mark the theatrical debut of filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s son, Jai Mehta.
