Dhurandhar 2: Premiere Shows Canceled in South India Due to Delays
Dhurandhar 2 Premiere Cancellations
The anticipation for Dhurandhar: The Revenge has reached a peak, with fans gearing up for special premiere screenings. However, audiences in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana faced disappointment as the Tamil and Telugu paid shows were unexpectedly canceled just hours before they were set to begin. The cancellations were attributed to delays in delivering the regional-language versions, prompting theaters to instead show the Hindi version. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
Reasons Behind the Cancellation of Paid Shows
The special previews that were initially planned have now been replaced by screenings of the Hindi version due to the unavailability of the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions. Theater chains confirmed that while the Hindi version was delivered on time, the regional language content was not ready for screening.
Broadway Cinemas in Coimbatore announced the cancellation through a post, stating that the Tamil paid previews were dropped due to the lack of available content. They also mentioned that Hindi paid shows would take their place and that refunds were being processed for affected customers.
GK Cinemas confirmed that the Tamil version of Dhurandhar 2 would not premiere as scheduled. Ticket holders have the option to watch the Hindi version or request a refund. The delays are reportedly due to post-production processes, including dubbing and subtitle preparation, which have not been completed for the regional versions.
Dhurandhar 2 is expected to exceed the first film in both scale and impact, with advance bookings for the premiere day already surpassing 900,000 tickets and collections exceeding ₹47 crore prior to its release.
