The film's strong performance in both domestic and international markets highlights the growing appeal of Bollywood. With historic earnings and a strong word-of-mouth, Dhurandhar 2 is poised for continued success. Explore the details of its box office journey and how it compares to other major releases.

Dhurandhar 2 Worldwide Collection

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, featuring Ranveer Singh, has made a significant impact at the global box office, amassing an impressive Rs 761 crore during its extended four-day opening weekend. Although the film has broken numerous records and achieved one of the largest openings in Bollywood history, it has not surpassed the monumental figures set by Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2, which continues to hold the top spot.

Dhurandhar 2's Record-Breaking Box Office Performance

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 debuted with outstanding numbers both domestically and internationally. The film grossed an astonishing Rs 550 crore in India and an additional Rs 211 crore from foreign markets, bringing its total worldwide gross to Rs 761 crore.

In North America, the film earned around $14 million (approximately Rs 131.5 crore), setting a new record for an Indian film's extended opening weekend in that region. The total overseas earnings reached Rs 211 crore, marking the largest four-day overseas opening for an Indian film. These accomplishments indicate a growing global appetite for Bollywood, with Dhurandhar 2 leading the way, even without a release in Gulf countries where it has been banned.

Domestically, the film also showcased impressive figures, with the India net box office collection hitting Rs 466 crore in just four days. The breakdown of daily earnings illustrates the film's strong performance:

  • Day 1 (including paid previews): Rs 145 crore
  • Day 2: Rs 83 crore
  • Day 3: Rs 117 crore
  • Day 4: Rs 121 crore

Total: Rs 466 crore (India net)

The film has made history by achieving the highest opening day, second day, third day, and fourth day in Hindi cinema, as well as the largest extended opening weekend for a Bollywood film both domestically and globally.

Comparing Pushpa 2 and Dhurandhar 2

Despite these record-breaking achievements, Dhurandhar 2 could not outdo the massive opening of Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2, which garnered a worldwide gross of Rs 829 crore within its first four days, setting a benchmark that remains unmatched. In India, the Hindi version of Pushpa 2 earned Rs 285.7 crore, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 198.55 crore, with other regional versions also adding significantly to its total, highlighting the film's pan-India appeal.

While Dhurandhar 2 excelled in Hindi markets, it did not have the multi-language reach that propelled Pushpa 2’s figures. The Allu Arjun starrer also achieved strong overseas earnings, bringing in around Rs 87 crore in North America during its opening weekend.

Even though it did not surpass Pushpa 2, the success of Dhurandhar 2 is historic. It has established new benchmarks for Bollywood openings, and Ranveer Singh's star power is at an unprecedented high. The film's positive word-of-mouth and repeat viewings may contribute to its continued success in the long run.
