Dhanush Donates New Building to His Alma Mater in Chennai

Chennai, August 5: According to industry insiders, renowned actor Dhanush has recently built and donated a new three-story building to the school where he completed his early education.
Reports indicate that Dhanush replaced an older, simpler structure at Thaai Sathya Matriculation School in Saligramam with this modern facility, which has been named the 'Dhanush Block'.
For those unfamiliar, Dhanush attended this school until the 10th grade.
The inauguration of the new building took place recently, with Dhanush present alongside his former classmate, cinematographer Kumaran, both of whom graduated in 1999.
During the ceremony, Dhanush showed his respect by touching the feet of his teachers and receiving their blessings, creating a heartfelt and memorable experience.
Cinematographer Kumaran, who has known Dhanush since their kindergarten days, attended the event with his wife, Lakshmi Krupa.
After the ceremony, Kumaran shared, “Dhanush, my wife, and I studied here until Class 10. We later completed our Plus Two at a different school. While Dhanush pursued a career in cinema, I finished my engineering degree and unexpectedly found my way into the film industry as a cinematographer, collaborating with Dhanush on projects like 'Thangamagan'.”
Kumaran further expressed, “Dhanush inquired about the state of the school facilities and generously offered to contribute to this significant project. What moved us even more was his commitment to renovate additional buildings and construct new ones in the available spaces. His kindness has truly touched our hearts.”
On the professional front, Dhanush, who recently received two National Awards for acting and directing at the 72nd National Film Awards, is currently filming 'Om' directed by Rajkumar Periasami, where he stars alongside Malayalam superstar Mammootty.
