Danish Iqbal Takes on the Role of Bade Sahab

Following the mention of Bade Sahab in the credits of Dhurandhar, fans speculated that Danish Iqbal would portray this pivotal character in the sequel. Their assumptions were confirmed as Danish indeed took on the role of the notorious figure, often associated with the criminal underworld in Pakistan. With the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, viewers gained insight into Bade Sahab, also known as Dawood Ibrahim, showcasing Danish's impressive portrayal of the character. However, there was a moment when he feared that director Aditya Dhar had replaced him.

Danish Iqbal's Initial Uncertainty About His Role

In a candid interview, Danish opened up about his journey into the character of Bade Sahab. He admitted that he was unaware of the full extent of his role until he began to piece things together. "I had no idea that Dawood was Bade Sahab. There was no prior discussion about this character. I was simply informed that I would be playing Dawood, who is bedridden, and all my scenes would revolve around that setting. However, I lacked clarity regarding Bade Sahab," he explained.

As his name appeared in the script as someone sought by Ranveer's character, even Danish began to question who Bade Sahab was, speculating whether he could be Parvez Musharraf or Osama Bin Laden. This led him to wonder if Dawood was indeed Bade Sahab.

Concerns About Being Replaced

Despite Danish's name being linked to the character shortly after the film's release on December 5, 2025, other prominent names like Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi also emerged, causing fans to speculate about the final casting. Danish shared his own concerns, stating, "With so many names being mentioned for the role of Dawood, I considered reaching out to Aditya Dhar to see if I had been replaced."

The Challenge of Wearing Prosthetics

In his portrayal of an elderly, bedridden Dawood, Danish had to endure long hours of wearing prosthetics. Reflecting on this experience, he noted, "It took 7-8 hours to apply the prosthetics and another 2-3 hours to remove them. After that, it took me an hour to detach from the character because maintaining focus while in that makeup for 12 hours is quite demanding. Transitioning out of that mindset is not as simple as flipping a switch."

Danish further elaborated on his preparation for the role, stating, "I studied the body language of a sick man of that age. I even consulted Aditya Dhar on how he manages so many dialogues. This preparation was crucial, from my breathing to my speech patterns." Currently, Dhurandhar 2 is performing exceptionally well at the global box office, and as it approaches its first weekend, expectations for record-breaking success are high.
