Diljit Dosanjh's *Satluj* Faces Backlash


A new controversy has erupted surrounding Diljit Dosanjh's film *Satluj*, which faced a four-year delay in receiving certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film was eventually released on the OTT platform ZEE5 in its unedited form, but it was taken down just two days later. Following this, ZEE5 released a statement regarding the film's removal, which has led to public outcry and support for the film. Diljit has expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, joining a chorus of voices reacting to the situation.


In a video shared by Diljit, he stated, "The film will not be silenced. No one can stifle the voice of Khalra Sahib." The footage shows a large gathering in a Punjab village where residents are watching *Satluj* on a big screen. Many are voicing their frustrations on X (formerly Twitter).


One user remarked, "#Satluj: The film's removal has opened doors for political maneuvering. The politics surrounding this issue remain unchanged."


Another comment highlighted, "It's odd that *Satluj* was banned for revealing uncomfortable truths. It showcases police corruption, fake encounters, and the oppression of ordinary citizens by the system. All political parties are equally corrupt."
