Kshatriya Parishad Voices Concerns Over Chauhaan

Ajay Devgn's forthcoming action movie, Chauhaan, is facing significant backlash. The Kshatriya Parishad, which represents the Rajput community, has publicly criticized the film's creators for allegedly politicizing the Rajput identity. They emphasized the need for filmmakers to act responsibly when depicting historical and cultural identities.

Kshatriya Parishad Raises Objections To Chauhaan

The Kshatriya Parishad took to their official X account to express their disapproval of the film's use of the Chauhan clan's name for what they termed 'modern communal politics.' They asserted that the history of the Rajputs should not be exploited for political agendas or media sensationalism. The organization lamented that it is 'deeply unfortunate' to see Rajput identity being pulled into a political narrative that the community did not initiate or endorse. They labeled this approach as 'irresponsible and disrespectful,' particularly given the underrepresentation of Rajput voices in mainstream media.

Furthermore, the Parishad highlighted that such representations indicate a lack of understanding of Indian history, referencing instances where alliances in the medieval period were formed based on loyalty rather than religious or communal affiliations. They cited examples such as Hakim Khan Sur, who fought alongside Maharana Pratap, and Mahmud Lodi, who served under Maharana Sanga, illustrating that Rajputs and Afghans once fought together.

The Parishad firmly rejected any attempts to weaponize Rajput history and called on filmmakers to approach India's past with care, advocating for a respectful representation of historical complexities rather than using Rajput heritage to fuel divisive discussions.
