CJ Perry's WWE Return Uncertain Despite Rusev's Comeback

The WWE Universe is buzzing with speculation about CJ Perry's future in the company following her husband Rusev's recent return. While Rusev has signed a new deal with WWE, reports indicate that Perry has not yet joined him, leaving fans wondering about a potential reunion. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Perry was absent from recent meetings and is not expected to return soon. After her departure from WWE in 2021, Perry made her AEW debut but confirmed her exit from the promotion in July 2024. As the couple reconciles in their personal life, the wrestling world eagerly awaits news on Perry's next move.

Rusev's WWE Return Sparks Speculation About CJ Perry

The WWE Universe may have to hold off on a complete Rusev Day reunion, as his wife, CJ Perry, also known as Lana, has not yet signed with the company. Following the confirmation of Rusev's return to WWE, fans speculated that it was only a matter of time before his wife joined him, but that is not currently the case.

Earlier this week, sources confirmed that Miro, previously known as Rusev, spent a significant amount of time at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, to finalize a new contract. While it remains uncertain if he will return as an on-screen character, he is preparing for a significant comeback.

CJ Perry's Status Remains Unclear

In a recent update, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer shared insights regarding CJ Perry's status during a broadcast of Wrestling Observer Radio, and the news was not promising. Meltzer indicated that Perry was absent from the meeting and is not expected to return to WWE anytime soon.

“Yeah Miro signed, CJ did not sign and was not there,” Meltzer remarked, emphasizing that CJ Perry's status as a free agent continues. “Basically, when asking I was given the impression that she would not be back. You never know for sure, but she did not sign, and he did.”

CJ Perry, portraying Lana, has not competed in a WWE ring since May 31, 2021, during the ThunderDome era, and was released just two days after that match, shocking many in the WWE locker room. After her departure, she made her AEW debut at All Out 2023, managing Miro and Andrade El Idolo. In December of that year, she turned on Andrade during the Worlds End event, marking her final appearance in AEW.

Perry confirmed her exit from AEW in July 2024, which followed a reported real-life split from Miro. However, the couple has since reconciled and renewed their wedding vows. Previous reports from Meltzer suggested that the split was merely a publicity stunt for their storyline in AEW.
