In a significant step towards fostering a drug-free community, the CISF Unit BSLP Sundernagar conducted a large-scale anti-drug awareness rally in Pandoh on Monday at 10 am. This event, part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,” marked a notable first for the region in terms of mobilization.

Approximately 50 CISF personnel joined forces with nearly 200 students from Noble College and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pandoh, transforming the rally into a vibrant youth-led campaign against substance abuse.

The rally commenced at Siyogi and concluded at the Pandoh bus stand, with participants chanting slogans like “Nasha Chhodo, Jeevan Jodo” and “Yuva Jago, Nasha Tyago.” Students displayed banners and placards that illustrated the detrimental effects of drug addiction, calling on the community to unite against this escalating issue.

Local residents received the rally with enthusiasm, commending the CISF for extending its role beyond security to advocate for social welfare.

During the event, Deputy Commandant Vishal Bansal emphasized that drug addiction not only harms individuals but also undermines families and society at large. He encouraged the youth to maintain fitness, participate in sports, and embrace a positive lifestyle, asserting that protecting society from internal threats like addiction is a crucial aspect of the CISF's mission.

The principals of Noble College and JNV Pandoh also addressed the audience, highlighting the pressing need for awareness among the youth. A street play performed by students from Noble College resonated deeply with attendees, delivering a compelling message against drug abuse.

Several dignitaries, including Assistant Commandant Deepak Joshi and Pandoh Dam In-charge Ashok Takshak, were present at the event.

The rally concluded with a unified pledge that through the collaborative efforts of security forces, educational institutions, and the community, the vision of a drug-free Pandoh can indeed be realized.
