Box Office Struggles for 'Ek Din'


The romantic film "Ek Din," starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, has concluded its box office journey merely two weeks post its release. Directed by Sunil Pandey, the movie did not resonate well with audiences, receiving unfavorable reviews that contributed to its swift decline in popularity. Its financial results have been disappointing, raising concerns about its sustainability in a highly competitive film industry.


With a production cost of 25 crore, "Ek Din" has managed to recover only around 17% of its budget, leading to an anticipated loss of 20.7 crore for Aamir Khan Productions. This marks the second consecutive film for Junaid Khan that has failed to perform well at the box office, prompting worries about his future as a leading actor.


The cast also includes Kunal Kapoor, Kavin Dave, and Reshma Shetty, and the film is said to be a remake of the 2016 Thai movie "One Day." Released on May 1, 2026, "Ek Din" was produced by Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan, and Aparna Purohit under the Aamir Khan Productions label, with PVR Inox Pictures managing its distribution.
