Biplab Dasgupta Passes Away at 75

On April 24, the renowned actor Biplab Dasgupta breathed his last in Kolkata at the age of 75. He had been experiencing health issues following a prostate surgery. Family members shared that he felt unwell at his home on Golf Club Road in Tollygunge and unfortunately passed away while being rushed to the hospital. Dasgupta was celebrated for his performances in Bengali cinema, including films like Baishey Shraban, Gumnaami, and Zulfiqar, as well as popular television series such as Chemistry Mashi, Jogomaya, and Checkmate. He is survived by his wife, Ruma Dasgupta, and their daughter.

According to reports, Dasgupta faced complications after his surgery and had been feeling increasingly unwell prior to his death. His wife, Ruma, recounted that his health took a turn for the worse on Friday morning, and by the afternoon, he had succumbed. He was declared dead by medical personnel shortly after arriving at the hospital.

In the wake of his passing, his body was taken to Technicians Studio in Kolkata, where many from the film, television, and OTT sectors in West Bengal came together to pay their respects and celebrate his legacy.
