Akshay Kumar Dismisses Retirement Rumors: 'I Prefer Working Over Chores!'
Akshay Kumar Talks Retirement at Film Launch
During the trailer launch of his eagerly awaited movie, "Welcome to the Jungle," Bollywood star Akshay Kumar addressed the swirling rumors about his retirement. With a career spanning 36 years and over 150 films, he was questioned about his future plans. Kumar admitted that the thought of retiring occasionally crosses his mind, especially in the early morning hours. However, he quickly brushes it aside, emphasizing his responsibilities and the 300-member team that relies on him on set.
Kumar conveyed that the notion of retirement does not resonate with him, suggesting that staying home would only bring about more obligations. He humorously speculated on what retirement might entail for him, saying, "If I retire, I might end up as an electrician, a dog walker, or a gardener. I would just be doing household chores. It’s better for me to keep working. I won’t retire; that’s the best option." His playful take on the subject showcases his dedication to his profession.
When probed about spending more time with his family, Kumar shared that he had tried to take a break, but it was short-lived. His family, especially his son, quickly reminded him of his work duties, leading him to the realization that continuing to work is preferable. He remarked, "Honestly, I believe the term 'retire' is misused. A person should only retire when they have mere seconds left to live. At that moment, they might say, 'Brother, I am retiring.' That would be the right time. Don’t stress about retirement; keep working if you want to live longer."
The trailer launch also saw appearances from fellow actors like Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, and Raveena Tandon. Kumar humorously pointed out Raveena's evolution from a leading actress to a maternal figure in the film. As anticipation grows for "Welcome to the Jungle," fans are eager to see if Kumar's comedic flair will shine through in the movie.
