Chyler Leigh and Eric Dane, known for their roles as Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan in the beloved series "Grey's Anatomy," shared a strong friendship off the set. The recent news of Dane's death has deeply impacted the cast, prompting Leigh to share her feelings in a recent interview. She expressed a significant regret about not being able to meet Dane during a crucial time in their careers.

In her conversation with TV Insider, Leigh recounted a moment when she missed the chance to connect with Dane while filming a dream sequence for her character, Meredith Grey. This scene unfolded during a critical plotline where Meredith fights for her life after contracting COVID-19. At that time, Leigh was busy filming "Supergirl" in Vancouver, which hindered her ability to travel to the "Grey's Anatomy" set. "We were filming during the actual Covid pandemic, and I was in Vancouver for Supergirl. I couldn't go down because I would have had to quarantine for two weeks upon returning to Vancouver," she explained.

Leigh's dedication to her other project and the quarantine rules ultimately meant she had to film her part of the sequence in front of a green screen, a choice she now looks back on with regret. "If there's one thing I regret, it would be not being able to do that," she said, highlighting the significance of those connections in her life.

During the interview, Leigh reminisced about her time with Dane, recalling the numerous memories they created together. "I could share a million memories. He was an incredible person," she noted, emphasizing the profound influence Dane had on her both personally and professionally.

In the poignant final sequence of "Grey's Anatomy," Leigh and Dane's characters reunite nearly a decade after their on-screen deaths.
