Just two days after Vijay's significant victory in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections, Cheran extended his congratulations and expressed remorse for his previous criticisms. A few weeks prior, he had taken to social media to question Vijay's political capabilities, stating that mere charisma and opposition to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam were insufficient. He emphasized that true leadership demands accountability and genuine engagement with public concerns, urging Vijay to articulate a clear vision rather than making vague statements.

On Wednesday, Cheran took to social media to celebrate Vijay's electoral success, commending him for winning in 108 constituencies as a figure from the film industry. He expressed joy over the formation of a new party government after many years, stating that the victory symbolizes a newfound freedom for the people of Tamil Nadu. Cheran thanked Vijay for liberating citizens from long-standing political struggles and expressed optimism that Vijay's leadership would meet the aspirations of the populace and address future needs. He reiterated his regret for his earlier criticisms.



Thalapathy Vijay's Political Milestones

Vijay achieved a remarkable feat by securing 108 seats in the elections, winning in both Trichy East and Perambur. He is expected to retain his seat in Perambur while resigning from Trichy East, which will trigger a by-election. To establish a majority and form the government, Vijay requires 11 additional seats. He is anticipated to take the oath as Chief Minister-elect on Thursday, May 7, at Nehru Indoor Stadium, having requested two weeks from the governor to demonstrate his majority.
