As the awards night approaches, fans are eager to see how this competition unfolds.

Chase Infiniti's BAFTA Nomination

Although she hasn't received an Oscar nomination, Chase Infiniti is among the six actresses nominated for Best Actress at the BAFTA Awards scheduled for February 22. Making her film debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, she will compete against her former co-star Renate Reinsve. Interestingly, both actresses appeared in the acclaimed Apple TV series Presumed Innocent, where they were part of a dramatic finale that changed the series' trajectory.

Nominees for Best Actress at BAFTA Awards

The nominees for Best Actress include Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, Emma Stone for Bugonia, Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another, and Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue. Buckley is currently seen as the frontrunner, but Byrne and Stone could potentially upset the odds.

For Chase, this nomination is significant, especially since she did not receive an Oscar nod for her role. In her debut film, she portrays the daughter of Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor. One Battle After Another leads the nominations at the EE BAFTAs with a total of 14 across various categories. The ceremony will be hosted by Alan Cumming at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Connection Between Chase Infiniti and Renate Reinsve in Presumed Innocent

In the legal drama crafted by David E. Kelley, Chase plays Jaden Sabich, the daughter of Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Rusty Sabich. Rusty, a Chicago prosecutor, becomes the main suspect in the murder of his colleague Carolyn (played by Reinsve), with whom he was involved romantically.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Throughout the series, Rusty suspects his wife, Barbara (Ruth Negga), of the murder, particularly after learning that Carolyn was pregnant with his child. In a shocking finale, Jaden reveals the truth about the murder.

A pivotal flashback scene shows Jaden confronting Carolyn, demanding she stay away from her family. After Carolyn discloses her pregnancy, Jaden reacts violently, killing her with a fire poker. The terrified teenager then attempts to escape and hide her actions. Although Chase and Renate only shared one scene, it was a critical moment. The two actresses have frequently crossed paths during the awards season for their films and will reunite once again on the night of the BAFTA Awards.
