Cannes Film Festival 2026 Wrap-Up


The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has officially concluded after two thrilling weeks dedicated to celebrating international cinema along the picturesque French Riviera. This prestigious event, which showcased numerous prominent figures from the entertainment industry on its legendary red carpet, wrapped up on Saturday with an elaborate awards ceremony held at the Palais des Festivals. The jury for this year's competition was chaired by the esteemed South Korean director Park Chan-wook, alongside a panel that included notable filmmakers like Diego Crspedes, Laura Wandel, and Chlor Zhao, as well as actors Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, and Stellan Skarsgård, along with screenwriter Paul Laverty.


Awards Announced at Cannes Film Festival 2026


French actress Eyade Haidara served as the host for the festival's closing ceremony. Iconic star Barbra Streisand received the Honorary Palme d’Or, and although she was unable to attend in person, she expressed her gratitude through a video message directed to presenter Isabelle Huppert and the Cannes team. Several films were recognized during the ceremony, with the Grand Prix, the second most prestigious award after the Palme d’Or, awarded to Minotaur, directed by the acclaimed Russian filmmaker Andrey Zvyagintsev.

The short film jury, led by filmmaker Carla Simon, included artist and actress Park Ji-min, screenwriter and producer Ali Asgari, actor-director Salim Kechiouche, and filmmaker Magnus von Horn, who collectively chose the winner of the Short Film Palme d’Or.
