Reflections on Love and Relationships

Brian Austin Green, the famous actor known for his past marriage to Megan Fox, recently shared his thoughts on the difficulties he faced during their relationship. In a revealing conversation on the 'I Do, Part 2' podcast, the 52-year-old actor explained that he often placed too much importance on physical attraction, which he believes contributed to the end of their marriage. Green reflected on how their decade-long union was fraught with toxicity and highlighted the necessity of friendship as a cornerstone for enduring relationships.

During the podcast, Green opened up about his nearly 15-year relationship with Fox, which included almost a decade of marriage. He confessed that his initial attraction to her was largely physical, stating, “First, I’d be physically attracted to somebody and then sort of build a relationship around that.” He recognized that this mindset ultimately led to the deterioration of their marriage, prompting him to seek therapy and engage in self-reflection to better understand his relationship patterns.

As part of his personal growth journey, Green has embraced a new outlook on love, especially in his current relationship with Sharna Burgess, a former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant. He emphasized the importance of friendship in their bond, recalling how they enjoyed lengthy conversations over breakfast before entering a romantic relationship. “We were really, really good, easy, natural friends to begin with,” he noted, underscoring how this friendship formed a strong basis for their romantic connection.

Green's experiences have led him to conclude that valuing friendship over mere physical attraction is vital for a healthy relationship. He acknowledged that while physical attraction can ignite a connection, it may not be enough to sustain a relationship over time. This new perspective has enabled him to approach love with a more balanced view, prioritizing emotional intimacy alongside physical attraction.

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox first crossed paths in 2004 while working on 'Hope & Faith' and tied the knot in 2010. They are parents to three sons: Noah, Bodhi, and Journey.
