Bollywood's Latest Flop: A Film That Earned Just ₹60,000
The Biggest Flop in Bollywood
In Bollywood, numerous films have been produced with hefty budgets, yet they failed to impress at the box office. Even renowned stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan have been part of films that flopped. However, one particular film stands out for its dismal performance, having been made with a budget of ₹45 crores but earning less than ₹1 lakh.
Discover the Film's Identity
The film in question is titled 'The Lady Killer.' Released amidst high expectations, it turned out to be a significant failure in theaters. The lead actor is the son of a well-known producer, but the weak storyline failed to attract audiences. Arjun Kapoor, the son of famous producer Boney Kapoor, stars in this film alongside Bhumi Pednekar, who plays a pivotal role. It was released in 2023.
Minimal Earnings Reported
This crime thriller is now regarded as one of the biggest flops in Indian cinema. Despite a production budget of ₹45 crores, it managed to rake in only ₹60,000. Reports suggest that the producers earned a mere 0.0001 percent of their investment. Directed by Ajay Bahl, the screenplay was co-written by Ajay, Pawan Soni, and Mayank Tiwari. Although the title included the word 'Killer,' it failed to make an impact at the box office, leading to both Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar being labeled as part of Bollywood's biggest disaster.
Ticket Sales Were Disappointing
Surprisingly, only 293 tickets were sold on the film's opening day in India. Several factors contributed to its failure, including the fact that the climax was reportedly not filmed, resulting in a release without a proper conclusion. Audiences were also unimpressed with the storyline. The film had only 12 screenings, and the producers prioritized its OTT release, which may have led to its poor performance. On its first day, the film earned ₹38,000.
