Financial Troubles for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

The renowned Hollywood duo, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, are reportedly facing new financial challenges regarding their extravagant mansion project in Upstate New York. Recent legal filings reveal that five contractors and subcontractors have accused the couple of failing to pay over $2.1 million for construction services rendered on their expansive estate in Lewisboro. This luxurious property, spanning nearly 110 acres, was intended to be a dream retreat, complete with a grand main house, eco-friendly features, and private entertainment areas. However, it has been reported that construction has come to a complete halt due to unpaid bills and ongoing legal disputes surrounding the project.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in a Financial Dispute

Located approximately 50 miles north of Manhattan, the couple's luxury estate has been a passion project since they discreetly purchased the land in 2018. The estate was designed to include a 14,500-square-foot main residence, a pool house, a gym, and advanced eco-friendly heating systems. Unfortunately, recent reports indicate that construction has now ceased entirely. According to documents referenced by a media outlet, the total outstanding amount is $2,108,856.63, with the largest claim coming from Flower Construction, a high-end building firm, which claims it is owed $1,356,157.54 for significant work completed on the property. Their responsibilities included structural work, plumbing, electrical installations, drywall, brickwork, and HVAC systems.

In addition to Flower Construction, four other subcontractors have filed claims related to specialized tasks on the estate, including excavation for an eco-friendly geothermal heating system and extensive drainage systems. Reports indicate that the slowdown in construction began in late 2025, eventually leading to a complete halt earlier this year. This timing is noteworthy as it coincided with Blake's highly publicized legal issues related to It Ends With Us.

Blake Lively's Legal Dispute with Co-Star

Lively accused her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, of sexual harassment and of orchestrating a retaliatory smear campaign against her. This dispute quickly became a hot topic in Hollywood, capturing headlines for months. During the legal proceedings, several counterclaims reportedly did not reach the courtroom, and many of Lively's allegations also failed to proceed.

After the resolution of her case, Lively made a notable return to public events, including a high-profile appearance at the recent Met Gala. Despite this comeback, reports indicate that the couple's luxury estate project remains in financial uncertainty as disputes with contractors continue to escalate.
