Bigg Boss OTT 2 Winner Elvish Yadav Faces Death Threats and Extortion Demand
Elvish Yadav's Alarming Situation
Elvish Yadav, who gained fame as the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2 and is a well-known digital influencer, has recently been threatened with death and extortion, with a demand for Rs 10 crore. Following his report to the authorities, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed after the threats also included his father, with a strict ultimatum for payment. The caller purportedly claimed ties to the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's group and insisted that Yadav secure the funds within a two-day timeframe.
As per the police report, Yadav received a WhatsApp call from an international number on May 5, during which there was no communication. Shortly after, a message was sent from the same number, threatening him and demanding Rs 10 crore. The sender identified himself as Randeep Malik, asserting he was a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. The message warned that failure to pay within the deadline would result in the deaths of both Yadav and his father. This threatening message was also sent to Yadav's father's phone.
In light of these threats, Yadav sought assistance from officials at the Sector-56 Police Station to lodge a formal complaint. An FIR was subsequently registered against an unidentified individual under applicable legal provisions, and authorities are currently analyzing the international number linked to the threats.
This distressing event comes on the heels of a recent legal triumph for Yadav, as the Supreme Court provided him relief in a separate case concerning allegations of smuggling and the use of snake venom. The court dismissed the criminal proceedings related to that case, which had attracted considerable attention on social media. The bench identified procedural errors in how the complaint and FIR were filed, concluding that the legal actions against Yadav could not proceed.
Before appealing to the Supreme Court, Yadav had contested the snake venom case in the Allahabad High Court, which rejected his plea last year, indicating that the allegations warranted thorough judicial examination due to multiple FIRs filed in various jurisdictions. Yadav had been charged under several provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, the Indian Penal Code, and the NDPS Act. With the Supreme Court halting the snake venom proceedings and a new FIR filed regarding the death threats, Yadav finds himself once again at the center of a serious police investigation, as authorities strive to trace the alleged gang connections and the international number involved.
