Bhooth Bangla: Akshay Kumar's Horror-Comedy Surpasses Major Box Office Milestones!
Bhooth Bangla's Box Office Triumph
The horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, featuring a stellar ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and Wamiqa Gabbi, has wrapped up its successful four-week run in theaters. In a time when major Hindi films were scarce, Bhooth Bangla seized the moment, emerging as a significant box office hit. Recently, it surpassed Aamir Khan's beloved classic, Sitaare Zameen Par, and on its fourth Thursday, it outperformed Salman Khan's Race 3 in global earnings.
In its fourth week alone, Bhooth Bangla earned an impressive 14.2 crore in India, pushing its domestic total to 181.21 crore net, which equates to a gross of 213.82 crore. The film has also made waves internationally, raking in 57.52 crore overseas. This brings its total worldwide box office collection after 28 days to a remarkable 271.34 crore gross, allowing Bhooth Bangla to eclipse the lifetime earnings of Race 3, which stands at 270.76 crore.
As it approaches its fifth weekend, Bhooth Bangla is on track to surpass the Hindi-dubbed versions of Kantara Chapter 1, which grossed 274.94 crore, and the blockbuster 2.0, which earned 275 crore. However, its next target, Mission Mangal, with a collection of 287.18 crore, seems to be a challenging goal.
Domestically, Bhooth Bangla has already outperformed Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang, which earned 181.03 crore. It is expected that during the fifth weekend, the film will also exceed the earnings of Bajirao Mastani, featuring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra, which stands at 184 crore.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla marks a significant reunion with Akshay Kumar after a 15-year gap since their last collaboration on Khatta Meetha in 2010. The film was produced on a budget of 120 crore by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor under the banners of Cape of Good Films and Balaji Motion Pictures, showcasing a successful blend of talent and production prowess.
