Bharath Discusses Career Ups and Downs

As he promotes his upcoming film Kaalidas 2, Bharath has candidly shared insights into the peaks and valleys of his acting career. Once hailed as a rising star in Tamil cinema, he faced a downturn that left many fans disheartened. While some speculated that his pivot to action films contributed to this decline, Bharath has clarified that various factors were at play.

Bharath Reflects on His Journey in Tamil Cinema

With over 20 years in the industry and more than 50 films to his credit, Bharath reminisced about his early days when he was considered one of the most promising talents in Tamil cinema. His initial success came from films like Boys, 4 the People, Chellamae, Kadhal, February 14, Pattiyal, Em Magan, Veyil, and Kanden Kadhalai. These projects not only garnered box office success but also established his presence in the film industry.

He noted that while films like Pazhani were well-received and showcased his appeal in action roles, this shift alone did not account for his career slowdown. Bharath emphasized that he continued to engage in quality projects, yet many failed to resonate with audiences. He pointed out that external elements, such as release timing and inadequate promotion, significantly affected his films' performances. He cited the example of 555, which, despite later acclaim, struggled at the box office during its initial release.

What Affected Bharath's Major Releases?

The film 555 faced challenges due to the concurrent release of Vijay’s Thalaivaa, which led to a rushed launch. Similarly, Nepali encountered difficulties stemming from its ‘A’ certification and tough competition from Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum. Bharath remarked, “Sometimes it is just timing or luck,” highlighting how these factors can dictate a film's success, irrespective of its quality. He also acknowledged that some of his setbacks were due to his own decisions, particularly in script selection.

Discussing his resilience and aspirations for a comeback, Bharath likened his situation to a cricket match where a player suddenly turns the game around. He expressed hope for a significant resurgence in his career, similar to cricketer Sanju Samson. His forthcoming film Kaalidas 2, directed by Sri Senthil and set for release on April 3, features a talented cast including Sangeetha, Ajay Karthik, and Bhavani Sre. Fans are optimistic that this film will signal a new chapter in Bharath’s career.
