Alex Duong, known for his roles in Blue Bloods, Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, and The Beyond, has sadly passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California. He was surrounded by family during his final moments after a courageous fight against cancer. Reports indicate that he went into septic shock on Friday night and succumbed the next morning. Hilarie Steele, a close friend, announced the heartbreaking news via a GoFundMe page set up for his family, which includes his wife, Christina, and their five-year-old daughter, Everest. Steele expressed gratitude for the support received during this difficult time, stating, "He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain."
Alex Duong's Final Days
Steele shared that Duong was able to say goodbye to his daughter, whom he cherished deeply. "We are devastated, but so grateful for the support, prayers, and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time," she added.
Duong had been battling cancer for over a year, having undergone surgery in early 2025 to remove a malignant mass behind his eye. Unfortunately, further procedures were necessary due to inconclusive results.
Career Highlights
A member of SAG-AFTRA since 2009, Duong's impressive resume includes appearances in Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, 90210, The Young and the Restless, and Pretty Little Liars. He also contributed as a writer for Netflix’s Historical Roasts. In 2021, he began working as a door attendant at the Comedy Store.
Last August, Duong was the focus of The Alex Duong Has Cancer In His Eye Comedy Benefit Show at Largo in Los Angeles, featuring comedians like Ronny Chieng, Andrea Jin, and Atsuko Okatsuka. During the event, he shared with the LA Times, "Comedians always have each other’s backs when times are tough. We understand the struggles of this lifestyle, and it’s a beautiful thing to see the support in this world."
