In our conversation, Ahmed Khan expressed that casting Raveena Tandon felt like a natural choice due to their long-standing friendship. He mentioned, "When I was penning the script, Raveena was the first person who came to mind for the role of the village woman who stands up for her rights." Ahmed recounted that during the development of a specific scene, the team realized it could unintentionally reflect Akshay and Raveena's real-life relationship. He admitted, "When Raveena came to mind, we thought, 'Oh, Raveena and Akshay... they do have some history.' There was a moment where she confronts him, the army officer, asking, 'Where have you been? You haven't visited our village in 20 years.'"

The director clarified that the dialogue was not intentionally crafted as a nod to the actors' past but rather developed naturally from the storyline. He explained, "The meta aspect was that it resonated with real life. It wasn't something we had deliberately planned. The intention was simply to show that no army personnel had visited that village for years, and when one finally does, she questions him, 'Where have you been?'" However, once the amusing connection was recognized, Ahmed noted that they decided to embrace it for the audience's enjoyment. He shared that the cast and crew enjoyed filming the scene, knowing that viewers would catch the subtle reference. "We had a blast shooting it. We were all clapping and laughing because Raveena was delivering those lines to Akshay. We knew it would resonate well, and it truly did," Ahmed added.

Ahmed also expressed confidence in including such a scene due to his close rapport with both actors. He concluded, "If it had been any other director, they might have hesitated, thinking, 'Oh no, we can't do this.' Even if they wanted to, they might have lacked the courage. But I said, 'No, we need to go for it.'"
