Arshad Warsi Reflects on His Journey in Bollywood and First Acting Role

Arshad Warsi's Career Milestones

Arshad Warsi, known for his role in Dhamaal 4, has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry for over three decades. His recent film, Welcome To The Jungle, has performed well at the box office. Following this success, he is set to appear in another comedy, Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar. In an exclusive interview, Arshad shared insights about his initial foray into acting, revealing that he debuted in the Amitabh Bachchan-produced film, Tere Mere Sapne (1996), where he starred alongside Simran. Interestingly, he mentioned that Jaya Bachchan was confident in his abilities and that he did not have to audition for the role.


Arshad Warsi's First Film Experience

During a candid discussion, we inquired about any unusual audition experiences Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi might have had. Arshad responded that he has never auditioned for any role, stating, “If I were to audition, I would likely fail because I don’t know how to do it.” He elaborated on how he landed his first film, saying, “I got my first film, Tere Mere Sapne, without an audition. I even asked Jaya Bachchan ji why she selected me. She had a solid reason.”



He explained that Jaya Bachchan had seen his photographs and noted that he appeared comfortable in front of the camera, showcasing various expressions. She believed he was not intimidated by the camera, which gave her confidence in casting him. Arshad praised her insight, stating, “She is a very intelligent woman.” The film Tere Mere Sapne also featured Chandrachur Singh and Priya Gill and was a commercial success.



In contrast, Jaaved Jaaferi shared his experience of auditioning only once for the role of a villain in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, a part that was ultimately played by Amrish Puri, whom he described as exceptional.


Upcoming Projects

Looking ahead, Arshad Warsi's next project, Dhamaal 4, features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Ravi Kishan, and Sanjay Mishra. The film is set to hit theaters on July 10, 2026. Additionally, he will appear in Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, King, later this year.
