Editing Misinterpretations in Comedy Circus

How Comedy Circus 'misrepresented' her laughter in editing

Archana elaborated on how her laughter was often misrepresented through editing during her time on Comedy Circus (2007–2018). She recalled, "The producer once asked to insert my laughter into a weak punchline to make it more appealing. This editing made it seem like I was laughing at trivial moments. For instance, I was shown laughing when a contestant merely said, 'There was a man...' In reality, I was laughing at a clever joke by Kapil, but the clip was misused, leading to viewer confusion." She also shared an anecdote about how director Priyadarshan questioned her frequent laughter, to which she replied, "You're a filmmaker; you understand how editing works..."
