Mumbai: Renowned music composer A.R. Rahman is spearheading the search for Tamil Nadu's next singing star with the launch of 'Tamil Idol,' as auditions commence statewide.
This talent search aims to uncover exceptional voices from various regions of Tamil Nadu, providing aspiring singers a chance to shine under the mentorship of one of India's most esteemed musicians. Sony Vizha has introduced Tamil Idol, marking the first Tamil version of a globally recognized singing competition format. A.R. Rahman announced that auditions opened on August 18, encouraging aspiring singers throughout Tamil Nadu to register via the Sony LIV app.
For those unable to attend auditions in person, the Sony LIV app allows participation from anywhere. Interested singers can navigate to the Tamil Idol Audition section on the app and complete their registration by entering their personal information.
In other news, A.R. Rahman recently released the soundtrack for the critically acclaimed Arabic psychological fantasy-thriller 'Baab,' directed by Nayla Al Khaja. This project represents Rahman's inaugural collaboration on an Arabic film.
The original soundtrack, featuring ten captivating compositions, was launched on major streaming platforms through Rahman's music label, KM Musiq, and distributed globally by Divo.
