Aparshakti Khurana's Ambitious Shift: From Acting to Tailoring
Aparshakti Khurana's Unique Career Path
Aparshakti Khurana has consistently chosen unconventional paths, and his latest insights shared on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi's YouTube series Double Date reflect this trend. Joined by his wife, Aakriti Khurana, he candidly expressed his intention to step away from acting within the next decade or so to pursue tailoring from the ground up. He emphasized that his goal isn't to launch a celebrity fashion brand or collaborate with designers but to master the fundamentals of the craft, including cutting and stitching fabric. This aspiration has roots that predate his entry into Bollywood.
Aparshakti's Motivation to Leave Acting
Before his breakout role in Dangal, Aparshakti navigated the challenges of Mumbai, taking on various roles to sustain himself. One of his early jobs involved styling hosts for a major TV channel. Reflecting on his journey, he recalled how Angad Bedi's compliment about his fashion sense reminded him of his stylist days. "There was a time when I worked as a stylist in Mumbai," he shared, linking his past experiences to his future aspirations. For him, tailoring transcends mere glamour; it represents a return to his roots. He expressed, "I want to learn how to cut and sew fabric," highlighting his desire to reconnect with the basics of the craft.
Aparshakti's Current Endeavors
Despite his plans to eventually leave acting, Aparshakti's departure is not imminent. He recently starred in Jab Khuli Kitaab, a film released in 2026 featuring veteran actors Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia as a couple facing divorce after five decades of marriage. This film is currently available for streaming on ZEE5. Looking ahead, he is set to make his debut in the Tamil film industry with a project titled Root, directed by S. Sooriyaprathap. This marks a significant transition for Aparshakti, who has spent years striving for recognition in Bollywood. With Root, he continues to embrace acting while keeping his tailoring ambitions alive for the future.
