Anupam Kher Begins Filming with Sooraj Barjatya


New Delhi: On Saturday, renowned Hindi actor Anupam Kher revealed that he has commenced shooting for his next film with the well-known director Sooraj Barjatya, with whom he has collaborated multiple times in the past.


Kher took to his X account to share the exciting news, posting a video featuring himself and Barjatya. Their previous collaborations include iconic films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Vivah.


This upcoming project will mark Kher's 549th film. He expressed his enthusiasm in the caption, stating, "ANNOUNCING MY 549th FILM. Delighted to share that my 549th untitled film started today with one and only SOORAJ BARJATYA."




Kher reminisced that Barjatya was the fifth assistant to Mahesh Bhatt during the making of Saaransh, which was Kher's debut film and a significant milestone in his career.


He also mentioned, "Presented him the auspicious shawl which I got from #Ayodhya! Sooraj was #MaheshBhatt Saab’s 5th assistant for my first film #Saaransh! It has been a long, happy, amazing and creatively joyous journey with him. Actually, I am an integral part of @rajshrifilms and their family for all these years! As is the tradition, I have the privilege to be in the first shot of the film! Jai Shri Krishna."


Kher's recent project is Tanvi the Great, which he directed and features Shubhangi Dutt in the lead role. The film was released in theaters on July 18 and marks Kher's second directorial venture.
