Mumbai, Sep 8: Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan has expressed his appreciation for the current Gen Z, noting their refreshing perspective on life.
The veteran actor emphasized that this generation does not wait for life to be flawless before they start enjoying it. Instead, they find joy in the simplest moments and embrace life as it unfolds.
In his remarks, Bachchan stated, “Deviyo aur sajjano, dekhiye, mujhe Gen Z, yaani aaj ki jo naujawan peedhi hai, unse milkar bahut achha lagta hai. Inko khush rehne ke liye bhi koi badi wajah nahi chahiye. (Ladies and gentlemen, I feel very pleased to meet Gen Z, the youth of today. They don’t require a significant reason to be happy.)
‘Ye un logon mein se nahi hain jo zindagi ke perfect hone ka intezaar karte hain, balki ye kehte hain ki zindagi ko sirf achieve nahi karna hai, use enjoy bhi karna hai. So, jo hai, jahan hai, jitna bhi hai, usi mein khushi dhoondh ke raho.”
(They are not the type to wait for life to be perfect; they believe life should be enjoyed, not just achieved. So, whatever you have, wherever you are, find happiness in that.)
In a previous episode, the legendary actor made an effort to decode some popular Gen Z slang. He humorously discussed how language evolves over time, poking fun at phrases like “rocking” and “killing it” by interpreting their literal meanings.
Expressing his bewilderment at the language used by younger generations, Bachchan remarked, “Aaj kal ki... Gen Z hai ya Gen A hai, pata nahi kya bolte hain... Sir, ajeeb-ajeeb bhasha banti rehti hai... 'You are rocking... Mr. Bachchan, you are rocking.' Maine kaha yaar, 'patthar toh humne abhi tak uthaya nahi.' Woh chhap gai... woh kaat karke bhejega, bolega, 'Sir, you are killing it.' Maut ki baat kaahe kar raha hai yaar humse?”
(These days, Gen Z uses strange expressions that keep evolving. 'You are rocking... Mr. Bachchan, you are rocking.' I said, 'Hey, I haven't even picked up a stone yet.' Then they edit it and send it back, saying, 'Sir, you are killing it.' Why are you talking about death with me?)
