Final Season of 'The Boys' Approaches Its Conclusion

However, showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that one significant character will not appear in the finale. Soldier Boy's Absence in the Finale

Insights from the Showrunner

In a conversation with Collider, Kripke, who previously collaborated with Jensen Ackles (the actor behind Soldier Boy) on Supernatural, discussed a nod to their past work within The Boys. A line originally referencing a Ford vehicle was altered to mention an Impala, a vehicle famously featured in Supernatural.

During the interview, Kripke inadvertently revealed that Soldier Boy would not be part of the series finale. He stated, "Knowing that that was going to be Jensen's last scene in the series, we wanted to put in one last reference." This announcement confirms the fate of this beloved character, who will lead the upcoming prequel series, Vought Rising, set to debut in 2027 on Amazon Prime Video.

Character Background and Recent Developments

Soldier Boy, also known as Ben, was introduced in Season 3 as Vought's original premier superhero and the father of Homelander. In the penultimate episode titled The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother's Milk, Homelander (Starr) acquires the V1 serum, granting him immortality. He then embarks on a quest to establish himself as the 'God' of the United States, even going so far as to eliminate the American president for not being a true believer. As Soldier Boy prepares to leave for Bogota, Colombia, Homelander's jealousy leads to a violent confrontation.

After feeling abandoned by his son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), Homelander's fear of losing his father intensifies. In a fit of rage, he attacks Soldier Boy, ultimately putting him back into stasis, treating him like a mere object to be displayed at will.
