Akashdeep Saigal's Comeback in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2

Akashdeep Saigal has made a highly anticipated return to the popular series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Previously known for his roles as Ansh Gujral and Eklavya, he now portrays Riyansh, also referred to as Rio. His character was recently introduced in the show produced by Ektaa Kapoor. Following his return, the actor participated in an exclusive interview where he shared insights about his reunion with Smriti Irani, who plays the iconic Tulsi Virani, and discussed a pivotal confrontation scene between their characters.

Reunion with Smriti Irani

In an exclusive chat, Akashdeep expressed his excitement about reuniting with Smriti Irani after a significant time apart. He likened their reunion to 'two masters returning to the ring', emphasizing the unique professional chemistry they share. "There’s a shorthand, a professional rhythm that you only get with a certain level of experience. We don’t need to 'act' the tension; we command the space. She’s the pillar, and I’m the fire—when we’re in a frame together, the energy is undeniable," he remarked.

When discussing the intense confrontation scene with Smriti Irani's character, Tulsi, Akashdeep revealed that his character Rio confronts Tulsi about slapping his father, Karan (played by Hiten Tejwani). Tulsi's shock upon seeing Riyansh was a key moment. He explained that the direction for the scene focused on 'dominance', aiming for the audience to feel the palpable tension. "It was about two titans standing their ground. I didn't play Rio as a grandson; I portrayed him as a man who understands his power of love. We let the performance do the heavy lifting. That’s the hallmark of professional acting—knowing when to let the aura speak for you," he stated.

"They aren’t just seeing a character; they’re witnessing the return of an archetype they’ve missed for 16 years. It seems to be a 'superstar spirit' resonance—a connection that transcends the screen and touches the audience’s soul," he concluded.
