TV Couple's Shocking Split
Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola, a beloved couple from the television industry, have officially parted ways. During her appearance on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, Akanksha surprised everyone by disclosing their divorce. She revealed that the couple has been living apart for the past year and is now moving forward with legal separation. The hosts, Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, were equally taken aback by this revelation. This marked the first occasion Akanksha publicly addressed her separation. Following her statement on the Netflix series, her previous remarks regarding motherhood and children have resurfaced on social media.
Akanksha's Stance on Parenthood
Last year, during an episode of Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav inquired with astrologer Jai Madaan about the possibility of having children with Akanksha. The astrologer suggested that she was contemplating it seriously. However, once inside the BB 19 house, Akanksha made it clear that she did not feel the urge to become a mother. In a discussion with Pranit More and Malti Chahar, she expressed, "Future me bhi mujhe difficult lag raha hai. Mujhe nahi aa raha hai andar se, I don’t feel the need to have a kid." She elaborated that she had numerous reasons for her decision, stating, "Mujhe lagta hai jab aap itne saare reasons dhundte ho, then you are not ready." While she acknowledged that she wasn't afraid of parenthood, she remarked, "Baccha paida karna halwa banana nahi hota hai." Akanksha emphasized that raising a child is a significant responsibility, and she felt she could not adequately fulfill that role. She also mentioned her desire to concentrate on her career and pursue her ambitions.
Gaurav's Respect for Akanksha's Choice
In a previous interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gaurav expressed his respect for Akanksha's decision not to have children. He noted that they had been married for nine years, yet she did not wish to have kids. Gaurav stated that it is not right to pressure a woman into motherhood if she is not prepared for it.
