Ajay Devgn Returns to Horror with a Darker Role in Upcoming Thriller
Ajay Devgn's New Horror Film: A Dark Turn
Ajay Devgn, known for his successful ventures in horror films, is gearing up to return to the genre with a new supernatural thriller. Following his last horror project, Shaitaan, the actor is set to collaborate with director Rohit Jugraj, famed for the Sardaar Ji series. This new film is anticipated to commence shooting in July and will feature Devgn in a darker, more intense role, showcasing his character's supernatural abilities.
Exploring a Morally Complex Character
What adds to the excitement of this project is the complexity of Devgn's character. Reports indicate that he will embody a morally ambiguous role, reminiscent of his performance in Kaal from over twenty years ago. While he played a father figure in Shaitaan, this time, he will take on a more sinister persona. The film is set in London, where Devgn will portray a mysterious character endowed with supernatural powers. Additionally, he is expected to adopt a striking new look for this role, prompting him to complete his current commitments before diving into this high-concept horror film.
Currently, Devgn is busy filming Golmaal 5 under Rohit Shetty's direction, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and others. This project is expected to keep him occupied until May, after which he will focus on final touches for Drishyam 3 in June. Once both projects are completed, he will shift his attention to Jugraj’s horror film in July.
Potential Titles for the Horror Film
While the official title of the film has not yet been revealed, sources suggest that titles like Griha Pravesh and Vaastu Shastra are under consideration. Among these, Griha Pravesh appears to be the leading candidate, as it resonates well with the film's thematic elements.
Director Rohit Jugraj, who has a history of working in the horror genre, previously assisted Ram Gopal Varma on Bhoot, which starred Devgn. This upcoming collaboration marks a significant moment in their careers. The film is set to be shot entirely in the UK, with plans for a comprehensive filming schedule aimed for completion by late 2026. After a series of sequels, this horror film promises to be one of Devgn's most captivating projects in recent years.
