Aishwarya Lekshmi Discusses Motherhood After Her 'Never Marry' Statement

In a conversation with journalist Bharadwaj Rangan on the Galatta YouTube channel, Aishwarya was questioned about the potential backlash from her earlier comments regarding marriage. Contrary to her expectations, she found that many people supported her stance, while others inquired if she was contemplating a live-in relationship instead of traditional marriage. She acknowledged that her views are evolving, although she still harbors some doubts about marriage itself.

Aishwarya shared that her desire for motherhood was ignited after portraying a mother in Gatta Kusthi 2, stating that her 'mama genes' were awakened during filming. She expressed, “If I want to have a child, I will probably want to be with someone whom I can at least believe would be a good father. I have changed as a person. Now I want to have a legal contract with somebody to have a baby.”

Aishwarya Lekshmi's Reflections on Marriage

The actress had previously stated her decision to avoid marriage altogether. “When I was younger, I imagined getting married,” she recalled, reminiscing about her childhood dreams of a wedding at Guruvayur temple, inspired by her mother's devotion. However, her perspective shifted as she observed the realities of marriage around her. “Most people I saw in marriages weren’t happy. They seemed to live with compromises, and few truly grew as individuals,” she noted, emphasizing that her decision was made after careful consideration rather than impulsively.

On the professional front, Aishwarya will soon appear in Gatta Kusthi 2, a sequel to the 2022 film Gatta Kusthi, which continues the narrative of Keerthi (played by Aishwarya) and Veera (Vishnuu Vishal) as they navigate reversed gender roles in a conservative society.
