Adivi Sesh's New Film and Its Unique Approach

Adivi Sesh, known for his role in *Major*, is set to release his latest film, *Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha*, in both Hindi and Telugu. This film is scheduled to hit theaters alongside Akshay Kumar's *Bhool Bhulaiyaa*. In an interview with Deepesh Pandey, Adivi shared insights about his film, the competition with *Bhool Bhulaiyaa*, and his dual role as a writer and actor.

**What inspired the creation of this film?**
The film aims to tell a love story set in an unconventional environment. Drawing inspiration from classic films like *Sholay*, we incorporated elements such as rugged landscapes, gunfire, railway tracks, and extreme weather to create a passionate narrative.

We filmed *Dacoit* separately in Hindi and Telugu, which I believe makes it more of a bilingual project rather than a Pan-India film. Our focus is solely on these two languages, reflecting the original filming process.

**What challenges did you face while shooting in two languages?**
There were notable challenges, particularly in maintaining consistent emotional expressions. We often switched between standard Hindi and colloquial Telugu, which required us to adapt our performances accordingly. We made a conscious decision not to replicate emotional deliveries across both languages.

Humor, for instance, may not translate the same way between Hindi and Telugu, leading us to adjust our expressions and staging for each version. We even cast different actors for minor roles in the Hindi and Telugu adaptations.

**Why did you choose to recreate the song 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast'?**
This song holds a nostalgic significance for me, as it was the first song I danced to during my childhood. It evokes fond memories, which is why we decided to incorporate it into the film's storyline.

**How has your experience been in Hindi cinema post-*Major*?**
Thanks to *Major*, I received numerous offers for war-themed films and biopics. However, *Dacoit* resonated with me due to its compelling story. I believe that if we create quality content, the Hindi audience will appreciate it.

**You postponed your release due to competition with other films. What was the reason?**
Initially, we planned to release on March 19th, coinciding with the Telugu New Year. However, facing competition from *Dhurandhar: The Revenge*, we struggled to secure enough screens in the Hindi market, prompting us to shift the release to April 10th.

I have great respect for Akshay Kumar, and it’s a coincidence that both *Major* and *Dacoit* faced off against his films.

**How do you balance your roles as an actor and writer?**
The gap between my films was partly due to my involvement in writing two projects: *Dacoit* and *G2*. I don’t prioritize one role over the other; I fully immerse myself in writing when I’m in that phase and focus solely on acting when it’s time to perform.

I see myself as an actor who began writing out of necessity to advance my career.
