Mumbai, Oct 3: Director Abhishek Pathak, known for his work on ‘Drishyam 3’, has shared his thoughts on the hurdles faced while advancing this beloved franchise. He emphasized the importance of preserving the nostalgia and intricate connections from the previous films while developing a fresh storyline.

Pathak remarked, “This film is intricate and layered due to the rich history of each character. The audience is already familiar with these individuals and their journeys from Parts 1 and 2, making every detail significant.”

He explained that the film's complex narrative necessitated a thorough review of earlier installments to ensure that every line and visual element was meaningful.

“During the writing process, we frequently revisited the previous films, examining minor dialogues or visual cues to see how they could be integrated into the new story. I was acutely aware that this is 'Drishyam', and viewers have specific expectations from this universe,” he added.

Pathak expressed his desire for audiences to experience nostalgia while recognizing the connections between all parts. He also aimed to avoid the label of a remake this time, feeling that adaptations can sometimes overshadow the craftsmanship involved in the Hindi version.

He was keen to put his unique touch on the script, stating, “I wanted to narrate it in my own style, advancing the story as I envisioned and creating my interpretation of the concluding part. We often debated the screenplay; if something seemed predictable, we would challenge it, ensuring the story remained intricate without alienating the audience.”

'Drishyam: The Conclusion' is a crime thriller that Pathak co-wrote, produced, and directed. Unlike its earlier films, this installment presents an original narrative that is not directly linked to its Malayalam original.
