Exploring the Musical Landscape of 'Made in India: A Titan Story'

Renowned music composer, songwriter, and singer Abhishek Nailwal has crafted the background score for the much-anticipated OTT series Made in India: A Titan Story. This biographical drama, inspired by Vinay Kamath's book 'Titan: Inside India's Most Successful Consumer Brand', chronicles the impressive journey of Titan Company and its key figures. The series stars notable actors Jim Sarbh and Naseeruddin Shah in significant roles.

Nailwal, who has previously worked on projects like Fukrey 3 and Haseen Dillruba, emphasized the critical role actors play in shaping the music of a film or series. In a recent interview, he stated, “They're absolutely crucial.” He explained that by the time a project reaches the actors, it has already been shaped by the efforts of many individuals.

He elaborated, saying, “The actors embody the culmination of all that effort. They are responsible for translating ideas and emotions into a form that resonates with the audience.” Nailwal further noted that as a composer, he constantly adapts to the nuances brought by the actors, including their expressions and emotional choices, which significantly influence the direction of the music.

Reflecting on the performances in 'Made in India', he shared, “Observing talents like Naseeruddin Shah and Jim Sarbh was incredibly motivating. When actors enhance the material, it elevates the entire production, making the music feel like an integral part of the narrative rather than an addition.”

Nailwal emphasized the collaborative nature of film and music, stating, “We all uplift one another, and when that synergy occurs, it can lead to something truly magical.”

Discussing his approach to creating a soundscape that mirrors the journey of this iconic Indian brand, Nailwal remarked, "What resonated with me was not just Titan's legacy, but the heart behind it. This narrative is about individuals striving to create something greater than themselves, infused with a sense of purpose and optimism.” He noted that the score needed to feel expansive yet grounded, reflecting the visionaries like Xerxes Desai and J.R.D. Tata, along with the many who believed in the brand's mission.

“There was a genuine spirit of determination and joy in crafting something impactful for the nation. This essence became the emotional core of the music,” he concluded.
