NDA Leaders Seek Blessings at Kamakhya Temple Ahead of Assam Government Swearing-In

In a significant prelude to the swearing-in of Assam's third BJP-led government, senior NDA leaders visited the Kamakhya Temple to seek blessings. Key figures, including Nitin Nabin and various Chief Ministers, expressed gratitude for the people's support and prayed for a prosperous future under PM Modi's vision. The BJP's recent electoral victory, securing 82 seats, underscores the party's stronghold in the region. This ceremony, attended by prominent political figures, marks a pivotal moment for Assam's governance.

Guwahati, May 12: On Tuesday, prominent leaders from the NDA visited the sacred Kamakhya temple in Guwahati to offer their prayers prior to the inauguration of Assam's third BJP-led government.


Among the dignitaries who paid their respects to Goddess Kamakhya were Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, and Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel.

After the prayers, Nabin expressed, "May Goddess Kamakhya continue to bless the people of Assam. With her blessings, the people have once again entrusted the BJP with their mandate. We are here to seek blessings on this auspicious occasion."


Goa Chief Minister Sawant mentioned that he prayed for the realization of PM Modi's vision for a developed India and for the strength to achieve his 'Viksit Goa' mission.


He congratulated the people of Assam for reaffirming their faith in Sarma's leadership.

Delhi Chief Minister Gupta remarked that the BJP's return to power for a third term in Assam signifies the blessings of Goddess Kamakhya and the people's trust in the party and Sarma's leadership.


She stated, "This is the outcome of Himanta Biswa Sarma's dedication and the affection and trust the people have in him. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, the journey towards a developed India and Assam is progressing."


BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma is poised to take the oath as Chief Minister for a second consecutive term, alongside four other MLAs—two from his party and one each from alliance partners AGP and BPF.


The ongoing ceremony, which is being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, is taking place at the Khanapara Veterinary College ground.


The BJP-led NDA has successfully retained power in Assam with a commanding two-thirds majority in the recent assembly elections, securing 82 seats in the 126-member assembly, while allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) each won 10 seats.
