Imphal, Apr 9: On Friday, Manipur's Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh made a notable visit to Senapati district, traveling through the Kuki-inhabited Kangpokpi district. This visit is perceived as a crucial outreach effort amidst ongoing tensions in the area.
Given the delicate security environment, the visit was executed with extensive security measures in place, ensuring safe transit through sensitive regions.
Accompanying the Chief Minister were Deputy Chief Minister Loshii Dikho and MLAs Awangbow Newmai, Robindro, and J. Kumo Sha.
During his time in Senapati, Singh inaugurated a Multi-Level Parking facility and an Inter-State and Inter-District Agriculture and Economic Transportation Hub at the district headquarters. This new facility, designed to hold 147 vehicles, aims to improve connectivity, facilitate trade, and enhance economic prospects in the area.
Additionally, he opened multi-purpose community buildings in Khabaduikung and Sangkumei villages, emphasizing their role as venues for social interaction and cultural activities, which will help foster unity and strengthen community ties.
The Chief Minister also laid the groundwork for 69 Anganwadi Centre buildings under SASCI, underscoring their importance in delivering quality early childhood care and pre-school education, while also aiding working parents.
Singh characterized these initiatives as part of a larger vision, reflecting the government's dedication to inclusive development, empowering grassroots communities, and building a more robust and prosperous Manipur.
