BJP Unveils Promises for West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026
BJP's Election Manifesto Released
On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched its manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The party has made several significant commitments to the state's residents, including a firm stance against illegal immigration, a monthly assistance of ₹3,000 for every woman and unemployed youth, and the establishment of the seventh pay commission for state employees within 45 days of coming to power.
A Vision for 'Sonar Bangla'
During the manifesto launch, Union Home Minister Amit Shah described it as a blueprint for creating a 'Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bengal). He criticized the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress as a nightmare for West Bengal and expressed confidence that the BJP's agenda would pave the way for the state's development, allowing citizens to live without fear and with their heads held high, fulfilling Tagore's vision.
Appeal for BJP Governance
Shah urged the people of West Bengal to trust the BJP, promising that once in power, the party would systematically remove every illegal immigrant from the state. He emphasized that the manifesto would provide new direction for farmers, youth, and women, instilling hope in every citizen proud of West Bengal's culture and serving as a roadmap for building 'Sonar Bangla.'
Focus on Immigration and Security
Highlighting immigration and border security, Shah stated that a 'Detect, Delete, and Deport' policy would be implemented under a BJP government. He assured that there would be no tolerance for illegal immigration and that uniform laws would apply to all citizens in West Bengal.
Financial Support for Women
The manifesto also guarantees the freedom to practice one's religion and includes promises to secure borders and curb animal trafficking. To attract female voters, the BJP has pledged to provide ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance to women in the state.
Opportunities for Youth
Additionally, the BJP announced a 33% reservation for women in all government jobs, including the police force. Shah also mentioned that unemployed youth would receive a monthly stipend of ₹3,000 and a one-time financial aid of ₹15,000 for competitive exam preparation. Young individuals who have missed eligibility due to paper leaks and corruption will be granted a five-year age relaxation to help them secure their futures.
Commitment to State Employees
If elected, the BJP promises to establish the seventh pay commission for state employees within 45 days. Shah assured that all central government schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, would be implemented with completion certificates, and the party would initiate PM Narendra Modi's welfare programs in Bengal. To promote Bengal's culture, a 'Vande Mataram' museum is proposed to showcase the state's heritage globally.
