What’s Next for Odisha? Major Steel Plant Announcement by CM Mohan Majhi!
A New Era for Keonjhar: Steel Plant Announcement
Keonjhar: On Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed plans for a significant collaboration between the globally recognized steel manufacturer POSCO and India's JSW Steel to construct a major steel facility in the Keonjhar district, marking it as Odisha's second-largest steel plant.
This initiative, located in the Patna region of Keonjhar, has received joint approval from South Korea's POSCO and India's JSW.
Various organizations and community groups in Keonjhar expressed their appreciation to the Chief Minister during a gathering at the state guesthouse in Bhubaneswar, celebrating what they see as the realization of a long-held aspiration.
The call for a steel plant in Keonjhar has been one of the most persistent demands from the public in the area.
Majhi noted that he had advocated for this project long before taking office, and his party had included the establishment of the steel plant in its manifesto for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Numerous workers, tribal forum members, student and youth organizations, civic groups, press clubs, intellectuals, and local representatives from various parts of Keonjhar gathered in Bhubaneswar to express their gratitude to the Chief Minister for his dedication.
Majhi emphasized that the wealth of Keonjhar, rich in minerals, would directly enhance the prosperity of Odisha.
He also highlighted that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of four mega steel plants in mineral-rich states, Odisha had previously missed out due to insufficient political commitment.
"Today, under the double-engine government, the world's largest steel manufacturing company is establishing a mega plant in Keonjhar," the Chief Minister remarked.
"This project will secure the district's future and lay the groundwork for a thriving Odisha.
In the years to come, Patna will develop into a modern city akin to Rourkela," he added.
Majhi assured that extensive industrial growth would occur not only in Keonjhar but throughout the state under the current administration.
