PM Modi Critiques Development Detractors in Vadodara

Vadodara: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed critics of his administration's development initiatives, referring to them as 'Naraz Fufa' or 'angry uncle'.

During the NaMo for Viksit Bharat event in Gujarat's Vadodara, he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for development projects worth ₹35,000 crore, emphasizing the significant changes in the country's work culture over the past 12 years under BJP leadership.

Among the projects is a 2,800-kilometre dedicated freight corridor, which Modi hailed as a 'historic achievement for the 21st century'.

He remarked on the skepticism surrounding the corridor, saying, 'One Naraz Fufa ji will ask: What will the truck drivers do?' He added, 'Naraz Fufa now has work,' indirectly referencing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Modi highlighted that since 2014, India has produced 50,000 modern rail coaches, contrasting this with the previous Congress government, which he claimed could not even construct 50,000 toilets in a decade.

He inaugurated three crucial sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, linking Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Navi Mumbai to Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in the project.

'Dedicated freight corridors are essential for a rapidly developing India. This modern freight network is accelerating India's transformation,' Modi stated.

Previously, passenger and freight trains shared tracks, which hampered both passenger travel and cargo transport. The new Dedicated Freight Corridor has resolved this issue.

'With your support, when I arrived in Delhi in 2014, we prioritized this project. Today, the 2,800 km dedicated freight corridors are complete,' he noted.

'The Eastern and Western Freight Corridors are becoming the backbone of the nation's trade and commerce,' Modi asserted.

He emphasized that the 2,800-km Dedicated Freight Corridor exemplifies the transformation of the country's work culture over the last 12 years.

'The concept for this corridor originated in 2004, and a special company was formed in 2006 to oversee it. However, until 2014, progress was stagnant, with files merely circulating without action,' Modi explained.

He criticized Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' initiative, asserting that the youth would not be swayed by what he termed the 'echo of lies'.

'At every corner, there are those who will attempt to mislead you with 'Jooth Ki Goonj', but today's youth will stand for the truth,' the Prime Minister remarked.

'Chhatron Ki Goonj' is a dialogue campaign initiated by the Congress, aimed at addressing issues like exam paper leaks, high education costs, recruitment irregularities, and unemployment.

Modi assured the youth that the government is dedicated to advancing various sectors, including solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear energy.

He encouraged young people to gain expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), stating, 'We want our youth to excel in this field.'

Additionally, Modi inaugurated freight train services from New Sanand, New Makarpura, New Umbergaon, and New JNPT in Navi Mumbai, along with a passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara.
