Tripura CM Launches Development Projects to Enhance Education and Healthcare
Tripura's Commitment to Development
Guwahati, June 20: On Friday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha of Tripura inaugurated a range of development initiatives aimed at advancing education, healthcare, and administrative services across the state through a virtual event.
During the online launch, local officials, school representatives, and community members participated from various locations. These initiatives are part of the state government's dedication to fostering inclusive growth, which is anticipated to significantly enhance rural development and improve access to essential services in remote areas.
Enhancing Educational Facilities
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of a new two-story school building at the BK Institute in Belonia. This upgraded facility features additional classrooms, a science lab, a library, restrooms, and modern sanitation and drainage systems.
As part of the Vidyajyoti Scheme, new school buildings were inaugurated at several institutions, including South Sonaichari HS School, Kalashi HS School, Baikhora English Medium HS School, Manubankul HS School, and Srinagar HS School. These upgrades aim to foster improved learning environments.
Kalashi HS School and Manubankul HS School also received additional classrooms and fully equipped science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, addressing the rising demand for STEM education in rural Tripura.
To assist tribal students, a new double-storied 50-seater ST Girls’ Hostel was inaugurated at Kalashi HS School, featuring a three-story foundation and a secure boundary wall. Additionally, a new ST Boys’ Hostel was opened at Chatakchari HS School, providing safe and quality accommodation for students from remote regions.
Improving Rural Healthcare Services
The Chief Minister also inaugurated essential healthcare facilities to enhance medical services in underserved areas. Two Block Public Health Units (BPHUs) were established at Maichara Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Manubankul Community Health Centre (CHC), which are expected to improve diagnostic and emergency care at the block level.
Furthermore, a 20-bed expansion was inaugurated at Muhuripur PHC to accommodate the increasing patient load and enhance inpatient services for surrounding rural communities.
Expanding Administrative Services
To bring governance closer to the populace, new Tahasil Kachari (TK) offices were inaugurated at Maichara, SBC Nagar, Radhanagar, Matai, Jolaibari, Baikhora, and Bhuratali. These local administrative offices will simplify access to land and revenue services for residents.
A Vision for Comprehensive Development
During the event, Chief Minister Manik Saha reiterated the government's commitment to rural development and inclusive progress. He stated, “These projects embody our mission to provide quality education, improved healthcare, and accessible governance throughout Tripura.” He emphasized that each initiative, from classrooms and hostels to hospitals and administrative offices, represents a step toward transforming the lives of the state's residents.
Community members and school authorities expressed their appreciation for the new facilities, describing them as a "transformative step" to ensure that students and patients in remote areas are not left behind in the state's growth trajectory.
Through these initiatives, the government aims to close the gap between urban and rural areas, ensuring that South Tripura is better prepared to address the developmental needs of its communities.
