Tata Power's Q4 Financial Performance

Tata Power Q4 Results: In the fourth quarter of FY26, Tata Power announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 996 crore, reflecting a 4% decrease from Rs 1,043 crore in the same period last year. Despite this decline in quarterly profits, the company achieved significant operational growth in both its core and renewable energy sectors throughout the financial year. Additionally, the board has proposed a final dividend of Rs 2.5 per share for the fiscal year ending March 2026.

During the March quarter, operational revenue was reported at Rs 14,900 crore, which is a 13% drop from Rs 17,096 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. However, EBITDA increased by 10% to Rs 4,216 crore, indicating enhanced operational performance despite the revenue decline.

Tata Power attributed its profitability during the quarter to improved operational efficiency and strong growth across its primary business segments. The core business experienced a 13% year-on-year increase in profit after tax in Q4, driven by consistent growth in generation, transmission, and distribution, alongside renewable energy operations.

For the entire FY26, the company achieved its highest annual profit after tax at Rs 5,118 crore, marking a 7% rise compared to the previous year. EBITDA for the year rose by 11% to Rs 16,090 crore, with total annual revenue reaching Rs 63,681 crore.

Renewable Energy Sector as a Major Growth Driver

The renewable energy segment has emerged as a significant growth engine for Tata Power in FY26. Profit after tax from this sector, excluding exceptional items, soared by 59% year-on-year to Rs 1,994 crore, with the fourth quarter alone contributing Rs 406 crore in PAT. The solar manufacturing division also experienced substantial growth, with FY26 PAT more than doubling to Rs 857 crore, aided by increased module and cell production capacity and yields exceeding 95%.

Furthermore, the rooftop solar segment saw a remarkable 150% increase in annual PAT, reaching Rs 499 crore. The transmission and distribution sector also performed well, with a 49% rise in FY26 PAT to Rs 2,978 crore. Additionally, Odisha discoms reported a strong performance, with annual PAT climbing 84% to Rs 809 crore.
