Fraud Case Filed Against Bollywood Couple

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra are embroiled in a significant fraud case. Deepak Kothari, a prominent businessman, has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police, claiming that the couple took ₹60 crores from him without fulfilling their commitments.

This is not the first time Raj Kundra has faced legal troubles; he has previously been implicated in cases of fraud and money laundering, having been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate.

In his complaint, Kothari, who is the director of Lotus Capital Financial Services Limited, stated that approximately ten years ago, Shetty and Kundra promised to help expand his business in exchange for the ₹60 crores, which were paid in two installments. However, he alleges that after receiving the funds, they failed to contribute to the growth of his business and instead used the money for personal expenses.
