Sanjay Singh's Quick Thinking Saves Lungi Ngidi During IPL 2026
Lungi Ngidi's Injury Incident
Lungi Ngidi: The excitement of IPL 2026 is building as teams have played around eight matches each, and the playoff picture is gradually becoming clearer. Currently, the Delhi Capitals are struggling significantly, having lost their last five matches.
In the recent game against the Punjab Kings, Lungi Ngidi sustained an injury while attempting to catch a ball, necessitating his evacuation from the field via ambulance. Fortunately, a quick-thinking individual played a crucial role in saving the life of this South African player.
Sanjay Singh's Swift Action
When the Punjab Kings came to bat, Ngidi was injured early on while trying to catch a ball. Although he received treatment on the field, his condition worsened, prompting his transfer to a hospital where he is now stable.
The ambulance left Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium at 6:16 PM and reached Max Hospital in Rajendra Nagar just 11 minutes later at 6:27 PM, covering a distance of about 10 kilometers. Typically, this journey could take 25-30 minutes due to peak hour traffic, but Sanjay Singh advised the ambulance driver against relying on Google Maps.
Choosing a longer route was necessary as the shorter paths were completely congested. Throughout this operation, around 60 police officers coordinated via wireless communication. Thanks to timely medical attention, Lungi Ngidi's life was saved.
Sanjay Singh's Cricket Background
