Odisha's Chief Minister Secures Over ₹66,000 Crore in Investments During Delhi Outreach
Investment Outreach Success in Delhi-NCR
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi wrapped up a two-day investment outreach in the Delhi-NCR region, successfully securing investment commitments totaling ₹66,392 crore, which could potentially create 54,135 jobs in Odisha.
Among the investment commitments, 38 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, amounting to ₹64,703 crore and expected to generate 46,071 jobs. Additionally, Investment Intention Forms (IIFs) worth ₹1,689 crore were received, with the potential to create 8,064 jobs. The outreach focused on various sectors, including engineering and manufacturing, textiles and apparel, aluminium downstream industries, and electronics.
After a successful first day featuring the Odisha Food Pro 2026 roadshow, Majhi visited Haier's manufacturing facility in Noida on the second day, engaging with senior officials and technicians.
He assessed the company's manufacturing processes and explored ways to enhance Odisha's manufacturing landscape, particularly in electronics, consumer goods, supply chains, and ancillary industries. Majhi emphasized, "Odisha is developing an ecosystem conducive to industrial growth, job creation, and long-term value. Our aim is not just to attract investments but also to foster employment, strengthen local supply chains, and create new opportunities for Odisha's youth. We want investors to view Odisha as a dependable and long-term growth partner."
Majhi also conducted individual meetings with industry leaders in Noida to discuss investment prospects, expansion strategies, sector-specific needs, and the support required for establishing and scaling businesses in Odisha.
Three sector-specific roundtables were organized: the Engineering Goods Manufacturing Roundtable, in collaboration with the Indian Industries Association, focused on manufacturing opportunities and industrial infrastructure; the Textile and Apparel Roundtable, with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, examined textile manufacturing and skilled labor; and the Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable, in partnership with NALCO, discussed value addition and MSME participation. The government noted that these discussions helped industry leaders gain insights into Odisha's investment landscape while allowing the state to identify specific sector needs and facilitate future investments. Majhi concluded the outreach by expressing optimism about the industry's response.
"Odisha is poised for Purvodaya. The feedback from industry over these two days has been very positive. We have secured investment proposals worth ₹66,392 crore, which could create 54,135 jobs. This outreach has been a successful endeavor and reflects the increasing confidence of the industry in Odisha," he stated.
