Significant Increase in Dearness Allowance
Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi of Odisha revealed a 2% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for both state government employees and pensioners.
This adjustment raises the DA from 58% to 60%, as confirmed by a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
The new rate will be effective retroactively from January 1, 2026, and will be included in the salary disbursed in May.
Additionally, the temporary increase (TI) for pensioners will also see a 2% rise, which will be reflected in their May pension payments.
Approximately 850,000 state government employees and pensioners are anticipated to benefit from this decision.
