Odisha's Chief Minister Courts UAE Investors for Stainless Steel Manufacturing

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reached out to UAE stainless steel industry leaders, inviting them to invest in Odisha. Highlighting the state's rich mineral resources and supportive industrial ecosystem, Majhi emphasized the potential for value-added manufacturing. During a roundtable in Dubai, he presented Odisha's industrial strengths and discussed investment opportunities with various companies. The CM's efforts aim to strengthen economic ties and attract significant investments to boost the state's industrial growth.
 

Odisha: A New Hub for Stainless Steel Investment


Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended an invitation to stainless steel industry stakeholders from the UAE to consider investing in Odisha. He emphasized the state's potential as a prime location for value-added manufacturing, supported by its abundant mineral resources, robust industrial framework, and advancing infrastructure.


During a high-profile roundtable with prominent stainless steel companies in Dubai, part of the Odisha Investors’ Meet, Majhi underscored the vast opportunities available for businesses looking to enhance their manufacturing and value addition efforts. Key participants included representatives from PGI Group UAE, MTC Group (Metallurgy), Hidayat Group (Stainless Steel Service Centre), Khira Group, and PTCL Infra.


Majhi pointed out Odisha's solid foundation in metals and minerals, along with the state government's commitment to fostering increased value addition through downstream industries. He stated, “Odisha combines rich natural resources, industrial expertise, and a conducive investment environment.”


He further encouraged the stainless steel sector to explore the investment landscape in Odisha and join in the state's industrial growth journey. A comprehensive presentation detailing Odisha’s industrial advantages and investment prospects was shared during the meeting, followed by discussions on establishing and expanding manufacturing operations in the region.


The companies present showed keen interest in the investment opportunities in Odisha and assured the Chief Minister that they would evaluate potential projects within the state. This roundtable was part of Majhi’s broader initiative to engage investors in the UAE. He also conducted several meetings with government officials and business leaders to promote investment in Odisha.


Majhi met with UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, who also chairs the Council of International Investments. Their discussions revolved around enhancing economic and investment relations between the UAE and Odisha, as well as exploring new investment avenues.


Additionally, Majhi engaged in investment talks with Shyam Kapoor, President and CEO of Saraf Group, who expressed a strong interest in investing in Odisha. Their meeting focused on new investment opportunities and potential business partnerships.


In another session in Dubai, Majhi discussed Odisha’s industrial capabilities and investment prospects with Ritesh Ramakrishnan, Managing Director of Transworld Group, who also showed interest in investing in the state.
